Benjamin Blackett
Life Mastery Consultant, Motivational Speaker and founder of A Creative Healing Place, Benjamin Blackett empowers women that are feeling stuck in their personal or professional relationships to live more vibrant, abundant and love-filled lives. A typical client is the one that says, “I love this business, but I don’t want to show up here. I want to live a better life. What does that look like?” Blackett gives them the tools to get there.
His own transformational story began after a couple of years of teaching French in public school and seven years of working in a boat yard. “I had a spiritual longing inside me,” Blackett recalls, “which came from reading Neale Donald Walsh’s Conversations with God. This led me beyond the belief in a condemning and judgmental God and into a relationship with loving spirit.” Walsh’s books pose questions about personal issues—health, prosperity, relationships and the nature of spiritual truth—with God providing clear answers.
Blackett started leading Conversations with God book studies at his house and saw how these classes helped others. When someone suggested he charge a fee for his sessions, he gave the idea serious thought. “It was 2015, a particularly snowy winter in the boat yard,” Blackett recalls, “and, it was time for me to make a change. I had to do something to make this life coaching idea viable. I realized, ‘Teacher person is who I am.’”
In 2016, Blackett enrolled in the Dreambuilder program at the Brave Thinking Institute, where he was mentored by Mary Morrissey, a leading teacher in personal development. Suddenly, Blackett knew he was meant to teach the Dreambuilder principles, and Morrissey helped him transform the material into repeatable reliable teaching tools. In 2017, he became a certified Life Master Consultant.
“The change was daunting,” admits Blackett, “because it required a significant investment in time and money. Yet, as I applied the principles myself, I found the time and the finances and discovered a life of ‘time and money freedom.’ Now I live the principles I teach. I have a clear vision and live from that vision. Sometimes, I have to do a lot of things that take me out of my comfort zone, but this is how I grow.”
The most rewarding aspects of Blackett’s work include helping clients grow beyond what they thought was possible for themselves and watching them realize their dreams and transform their lives. His life coaching style is heart-centered, as opposed to directive. “I don’t give my clients the answers,” he explains. “I provide the structure and support to help them find their own answers. The work I do is body, mind and spirit. We are spirit beings living in physical bodies, and we always have everything that we need. We are creators much more than we can imagine.”
He shares the story of a woman that left her job in physical therapy to open her own business. After four and one-half years, she reached a point where she dreaded going to work. She was overwhelmed with life. Work seemed like a chore; she was feeling inadequate as a mom and having doubts about her marriage. Within two months of working with Blackett, she shifted her belief in herself, doubled her income and found ways to grow her relationship with her husband. “She is a woman of empowerment,” reports Blackett. “She grew her business 10 times and is living a life of exemplary balance.”
Life Mastery Consulting can also help people discover dreams they never knew they had. The Dreambuilder approach led a man that was unhappy in his work to unearth the dream of working in theater, and he is now acting and doing voice-overs.
Blackett’s ultimate mission is to help 1 million dreams be realized by 2033, which he will achieve largely through motivational speaking. He is fond of quoting Howard Thurman, theologian, educator and civil rights leader: “Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive. And go do that, because what the world needs is more people coming alive.” Blackett offers in-person seminars, workshops and one-on-one coaching, and is particularly passionate about teaching TranscenDance.
As a fervent francophile, every spring, Blackett leads a one-week adventure retreat to the South of France, Kickstarting Your Dreams, where participants will embrace the extraordinary and discover the secrets to creating a life filled with more freedom, success and unlimited possibilities. This year’s adventure is scheduled for June 6 to13, and detailed information is available on his website.
