Retreat for Service Providers to Heal with the Herd

Moonlight Ranch—a privately owned and operated farm in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts, that hosts behavioral health providers and services—will conduct a Provider Retreat from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on September 15, 2024. This gathering, led by licensed social workers Katie Ford and Lauren Petrilli, is for anyone that provides services to others including therapists, teachers and healthcare providers to step away from the daily grind of life and immerse themselves in the tranquility of the ranch, experience nature and be able to reflect and restore their mind, body and spirit in community with the Moonlight Ranch herd, fellow providers and facilitators.

Activities include a group Centering and Sharing Space with the Herd; bio breaks, connection and reflection; additional sharing space with the herd; and discussions. This is also an opportunity to learn about animal-assisted services based in a foundation of animal welfare, well-being and consent. The day’s schedule is planned and may change depending on the group and individual needs. This retreat is a fully unmounted, on-the-ground experience and no prior horse handling experience is required. Attendees are requested to wear boots or other closed-toed footwear and layers appropriate for being outdoors, and bring their own lunch and water bottles.

Cost: $75. Location: 70 Scribner Rd, Tyngsborough, MA. Second event date of Oct. 20 if Sept.15
is filled. For more information or to register, call 978-328-7346, email [email protected]
