Brian Clement, director of Hippocrates Health Institute, will present Sweet Disease – What Sugar and Artificial Sweeteners Are Doing to Your Health, from 7 to 9 p.m., at First Parish Church, in Waltham. The talk will be followed by a Q-and-A session and book signing.

Clement will present the latest research portraying sugar’s damaging effect on health and the role it plays in obesity, diabetes, cancer and other health issues. The presentation will also feature strategies for creating a healthy, disease prevention lifestyle leading to renewed energy and lasting vitality.
