Positive Psychology Program for Authentic Happiness in Arlington
Kim Childs, owner of Take the Leap Coaching, in Arlington, presents a nine-week program this fall for cultivating happiness and well-being from the inside out. The program is based on the book Happy for No Reason, by Marci Shimoff, and other positive psychology research-based practices for increasing optimism, resilience and fulfillment in life.
Happier from the Inside Out begins October 6 in Arlington, and takes place on Tuesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. Childs, a certified positive psychology coach, will guide participants through the weekly practices and include individual phone coaching for each student.
“The science of positive psychology can be applied to take us from surviving to thriving in life,” she says. “It takes practice, however, and we learn and use those practices and tools for more authentic happiness in this class. My students see remarkable changes in their lives, based on the attitude shifts they experience with this powerful work.”
The weekly meetings include discussion, experiential exercises and sharing of the homework. While the class is not a therapy group or mental health counseling, it may complement such treatment.
Cost: $450. Location: Take the Leap Coaching, 1025 Mass. Ave., Arlington. For more information, call 617-640-3813 or visit KimChilds.com.
