Art, Activism and Autumn Vibes at Rootstock Festival

The fifth annual Fall Festival Rootstock, celebrating the land and community gardens, farmers, artists, musicians, hikers, organizers, learners and teachers, will take place from noon to 6 p.m. on September 21, 2025, at Mowry Commons, in Smithfield, Rhode Island. Themed Revive the Roots, attendees of the fun, family-friendly event will enjoy plenty of local live music, artmaking, delicious food and more.
Share Space presenters will offer information about many health and wellness topics, nature-based practices and sustainability. Food will be provided by Tacofied and JA Patty, and vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options will also be available. Crafts can be made and kids and adults alike can participate in making a communal mural.
“Meet our community partners, the amazing folks building community and taking environmental action in Rhode Island,” says Gregory Fisher, activities coordinator on the Committee for Rootstock 2025, who adds visitors can wander and explore the nature and wildlife of Mowry Commons’ 23 acres to “slip into fall vibes.”
Bringing folding or camp chairs, blankets and water bottle to the rain-or-shine event are suggested.
Free admission, donations gratefully accepted. Location: 374 Farnum Pike, Smithfield, RI. For more information, visit ReviveTheRoots.org/rootstock.html. Those interested in volunteering can email [email protected].
